We currentlyhave an educational sales opportunity in theCharlottesville, Blacksburg, Lynchburg areasof Virginia within our Humanities & Social Science (HSS) division.

As a PearsonSales Representative you are customer facing in assisting and supporting thetransformation of learning. You are also responsible for creating effective andinnovative sales solutions that address issues and challenges facinginstitutions, instructors and students today to meet necessary educationaloutcomes. If you possess a need for achievement, a desire or demonstrated successin meeting and succeeding goals, an interest in digital media and applicationsand a passion for education, you may find this be a great fit.

Responsibilities:

A Pearsonsales representative is customer facing in assisting and supporting thetransformation of learning. Sales representatives are responsible for creatingeffective and innovative sales solutions that address issues and challengesfacing institutions, instructors and students today to meet necessaryeducational outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess a quantifiable record ofsuccess with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed goals. A strong interestin digital media and applications to learning is a must.

SuccessfulSales Representatives:

  • Employ effective consultativetechniques including pre-call planning and productive questioning strategiesthat lead to winning business.

  • Demonstrate superb organizationaland follow-up abilities; maintain product knowledge around Pearsontechnologies, the educational industry, and factors influencing the marketenvironment.

  • Deliver technology presentations tofaculty.

  • Demonstrate teamwork through sharingof best practices and working with cross functional teams.

  • Implement company initiatives intosales territory.

  • Build strong partnerships withfaculty members and college bookstore personnel.

  • We are looking for talented salespeople to engage our customers and help us to continue to grow the business.

Qualifications

Thesuccessful candidate will demonstrate:

  • High Achievement and consistent track record for excelling in afast-paced college and/or work environment.

  • Sales experience or aptitude via enthusiasm for the process ofsuccessfully investigating, defining, and fulfilling customers’ needs.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Experience with Learning Technologies or curiosity about thedevelopment of traditional and technology based intellectual property.

  • Technological proficiency and strong working knowledge of theinternet, mobile technologies, and computer applications and business systems.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication.

  • A 4-year college degree demonstrating academic excellence.
