Job Purpose

To produce creative innovative designs for a wide range of products and services, delivered via design templates that are structured, modular and re-usable. Under guidance from senior designers and Design Manager, look to seek radical creative solutions, using new technology across a broad range of design projects, and working collaboratively within project teams.

Core competencies:

  • Deliver high quality visual design for digital and print marketing collateral for UK Schools business, ensuring alignment with industry standards

  • Comfortable working on multiple projects to meet varied and tight schedules in line with marketing and wider business needs

  • A pro-active self-motivated strong team player, wanting to grow and develop within the company, flexible and adaptable to a changing environment

  • Follows art direction of senior visual designers within the team and design manager

  • Liaises closely with key marketing and product branding stakeholders

  • Champions good brand practice, adopts and contributes to development of marketing brand guidelines, to ensure a consistency of branding is implemented, creating a consistent user experience

  • Understand the principles of user-testing and prototyping and apply where possible and appropriate, working with UX colleagues

  • Implement usability and accessibility guidelines as directed for all print and digital visual design elements

  • Work closely with Marketing on briefing, best working practices and processes

Qualifications

Desirable skills:

  • Understands front end technologies to ensure that interactions can be supported.

  • Takes a keen interest in current developments in the area of digital media (particularly trends and innovations in the areas of web design, mobile devices and digital books)

  • Good understanding and some experience in web/UI interface design/app design.

  • Understanding of responsive design and ability to apply appropriate visual design layers.

  • Experience of HTML and CSS

  • Experience of animation

Technical:Mac based.

  • Adobe Creative Suite programme

  • Microsoft Office programmes
