Director, Marketing K12
Collaborating with the senior leadership team to deeply understand the Canadian educational ecosystem, the Director, Marketing K12 leads a marketing team that is committed to gaining deep understanding of K12 teaching and learning in Canada and creates opportunities for customers to provide insights into product and services development, ensuring that all marketing activities deliver against Pearson’s efficacy mission to improve people’s lives through learning. The Director, Marketing is responsible for leading the creation and execution of national marketing campaigns and sales training for all Pearson K12 product and services, including, supplementary, assessment, professional, early learning, digital products and professional learning services.
Define the appropriate marketing organization for the division’s maturity/size.
Participate in strategic planning including positioning, market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and penetration plans, and forecasting requirements.
Oversee all integrated marketing campaigns including marketing plan development, sales meeting planning and facilitation, sales training, advertising, white papers, conferences, seminars and events collateral materials, and social media and website content.
Collaborate with sales leadership to define and direct field sales programs for demand creation, lead generation, lead tracking and to identify and develop strategic partnerships and, close/grow major customer accounts.
Collaborate with product development to conduct market research and to create opportunities to provide customer insights into new product development.
Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities.
Manage division’s annual and progressive forecasting requirements and pricing.
Be a role model for the company culture and a champion for Pearson’s efficacy mission.
Develop and manage the division’s marketing budget.

Completion of a university degree (preferably in education/marketing/business) or MBA
Ten year of progressive experience in marketing, sales or product development
Five years of experience managing a team
Successful track record in marketing and sales
Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
Proficient with computers; including Microsoft Office Suite
Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented and strong ability to multi-task
Adaptable problem-solver and team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
An astute approach to business with a clear focus on sales growth, profitability and total customer satisfaction
The ability to identify and seize market opportunities
A systematic approach to setting priorities and time management
A high level of stamina with the capacity to successfully work under pressure and manage many projects simultaneously
