Higher Education Rights/Permissions Analyst in Noida, India

The team oversees the rights management of 3rd-party content and asset licenses (permissions) in courseware catering to the US Higher Education market.

Reporting to the Director/Manager, Rights & Permissions, the Analyst role supports third-party content use for the Higher Education business to meet Pearson standards, policies, strategies, and business objectives as well as show continuous performance improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects assigned by the R&P Manager/Director to enable best rights and sourcing practices while achieving business goals in the management of 3rd-party assets, working closely with key stakeholders in content development and production teams, and others as required

  • Achieve or exceed the lifecycle content, budget and schedule expectations of projects/activities

  • Fulfill the rights requirements for projects, making use of such opportunities as Preferred Sourcing, 3-Tier Rights Framework, and rightsholder negotiation to drive quality, cost and process efficiency and sound rights/risk practices

  • Learn and work effectively with Rights Management tools: IPM and Blueprint and Tableau, Pearson's core R&P systems

  • Maintain and meet all rights management milestones for projects, engaging business teams and vendors over the entire content development/production workflow (initiate, plan, execute, control, close). Ensure all projects are closed in timely manner

  • Monitor and update project information, create documentation, reports, and related work as required throughout the project lifecycle

  • Communicate, monitor and drive R&P expectations, standards, KPIs and SLAs with all project members including vendors/CSC

  • Prepare and monitor rightsholder and vendor supplier setup, POs and payments, ensuring timely and accurate completion

  • Support the inclusion and visibility of content that aligns with Pearson’s Global Content Editorial Policy with suppliers

  • Participate in departmental meetings and events and contribute to team goals

  • Complete full and up-to-date capitalization submissions

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Measures: Projects including payments and accounting achieved and closed on time and budget -Rights aligned with lifecycle publishing plans and records accurate and complete -Progressive acceleration of time to market and average asset cost reduction –Evidence of professional development provided through learning programs

Qualifications:

  • Degree educated or equivalent tertiary qualification relevant to the position, or equivalent experience

  • Qualification in or experience with media/copyright law an asset

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience with educational publisher or equivalent

*Skills/knowledge/abilities: *

  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills (to identify and resolve inquiries, errors, and other issues)

  • Strong project and time management skills, ability to meet deadlines, and prioritize based on project needs or stakeholder requests

  • Highly organized with excellent communication skills

  • Familiarity with rights acquiring/rights management workflow tools and systems

  • Database knowledge—input, reporting, tracking & auditing

  • Interest in and knowledge of media content, social media and media technology trends

  • Team player with an ability to build collaboration and achieve results

  • Nimble, proactive, positive, and disposed for innovation

  • Good computer skills, particularly MS Office suite including Excel, Teams and SharePoint
