Job description

In this excitingrole, the Editor will be responsible for publishing versions of Pearson HigherEducation titles for markets across the world.

They will buildmarket knowledge and strong contributor networks to commission content formarket-leading titles from the US, the UK and Pearson’s other internationalpublishing centres. Editors will be responsible for the timely delivery ofpremium titles and their related media/technology, tailored to the needs ofinternational markets.

The role involvesworking closely with Pearson colleagues internationally: Publishing, Editorial,Production, and Technology colleagues in the US, UK, India, and Asia; and Sales& Marketing colleagues worldwide. It’s a unique opportunity in HigherEducation publishing to work with markets and colleagues at a global level topublish truly international products. Travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining a publishing plan and commissioningpriorities

  • Working with contributors and Editorial, Production, and Technologycolleagues to deliver high-quality publications, and their related supplements,in a timely fashion

  • Working with publishing colleagues around the world to establishfrontlist schedules and new-edition plans

  • Building a strong network of academic contributors and authors

  • Working with colleagues in Sales and Marketing internationallyto understand markets and maximize opportunities worldwide

  • Communicating publishing plans to colleagues worldwide

  • Working with Marketing and Sales teams to achieve sales targets

  • Championing and monitoring programme performance

You might currentlybe in Editorial, Production, Sales, Marketing, or Product Development. You willhave a track record of success and be able to demonstrate the right qualitiesto take on this unique role. You may also have experience of working in aninternational publishing environment. You will be expected to:
