The Commerce Courseware Development Manager will be primarilyresponsible for the end to end project management of the courseware developmentand distribution process for the CTI Commerce Faculty Qualifications.

The qualifications will include the:

  • CTI Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) Degree,

  • CTI Bachelor of Commerce Degree and

  • CTI Higher Certificate in Business Management.

The courseware development manager will ensure that all teamdeliverables were successfully completed in a timely manner. Ensure that the defined CTI life cycleprocesses were adhered to and that materials are aligned with business unitgoals and styles/standards.

Main dutieswill include (but are not limited to)

1) Courseware Development and Moderation

  • Source and contract courseware developers.

  • Source and contract internal moderators.

  • Collaborate with developers and moderators to ensuretimeous delivery of courseware.

  • Recognize potential problems and worked with teammembers to formulate contingency plans.

  • Sourcing andengaging with members of our Programme Advisory Committee on Curriculadevelopment and updates.

  • Consulting withother Public and Private Higher Education institutions on Programme content andstandards (includes international partnerships).

  • Budgets and manages costs and payments relatedto courseware development.

  • Communicates with textbook publishers ontextbooks (new titles, latest editions)

  • Communicates recommended reading and otherresources to campus resource centre managers.

  • Collaboration with the exam department

  • Liaise with the Educational Advisor to ensurequality assurance of academic standards.

2) Managing ateam of copy editors and courseware development assistant

  • Work with a team of copy editors toensurework done meets CTI style standards.

  • Foster open communication and a spirit of teamwork.

  • Recognize team’s skills and abilities and how each teammember performs most effectively. Identify training needs for the team and helpexecute training plan.

  • Create and review goals and objectives for teammembers. Write yearly performance reviews. Provide ongoing performance-relatedfeedback, identify opportunities for professional development and growth, andcoach team members as needed.

  • Identify, interview, and select appropriate candidatesfor open positions.

  • Close collaboration with commerce educational advisorto implement feedback on educational checks.

3) Uploading andmanagement of academic material on the Learner Management System (LMS)

  • All coursewaremust be uploaded to the LMS.

  • All lecturerresources must be uploaded to the LMS.

  • Management ofmaterial available on LMS.

4) Ensure thatQualifications and Academic material meet regulatory requirements

  • Ensure that the developedcourseware contributes towards the qualification outcomes as registered withregulatory authorities.

  • Academic materialand assessments must be aligned with relevant NQF levels and credits.

  • Work closely withthe Registrar on Programme accreditation.

  • Setting of theAcademic Planner for all qualifications.

5) Contributingmember of the following committees/meetings

  • Assessment Board(AB)

  • Will have to representCommerce Faculty at the CTI Senate if needed.

Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in the CommerceField but a Honours Degree will be preferable
