The Content Editor will ensure that all questionsand collateral material written for tests are of a high quality. Theywill review test questions authored by Subject Matter Experts to ensure thatthey are consistent, grammatically correct and follow the agreed house style.The Content Editor will be working with varied subject matter of differingcomplexity.
The tasks will include:
Proofreading – The Content Editor will be required to correct basic spelling, typographical and grammatical errors
Copy-editing – The Content Editor will undertake some re-writing to ensure style consistency without altering the meaning of the question.
Reference checking - The Content Editor will also check any references contained within the test, review test questions against syllabus areas/objectives
Maintaining project information – updating edit tracking documentation, working with project plans and other project management documentation to track project progress.
Item bank maintenance – An item banking tool is used to manage the configuration of the test questions. The Content Editor will ensure this is up to date and accurate.

Essential Experience & Qualifications
A wide variety of publishing or content editing experience, ideally using webbasedor bespoke content management tools
Proven outstanding level and knowledge of the English language
Concentration, accuracy and great attention to detail
An ability to work on several projects at once
Excellent communication skills
A methodical working style
Strong IT skills, with experience of Microsoft Office
Experience in collaboration tools including cloud-based tools and SharePoint
Ability to work on own initiative
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in English, History or a related field
