The Strategy & Programme Managementteam is one of five teams within the Efficacy & Research division ofPearson’s product development organisation. Our team is based in London whilethe wider Efficacy & Research team is split across London and NorthAmerica. We are an intentionally small team made up of people from all kinds ofbackgrounds. We share a common interest in education and we are motivated byimproving lives across the world.


What do we do?

Efficacy is Pearson’s global program tosystematically improve our products so that they lead to better learneroutcomes. In 2013, Pearson launched the program to put deliberate effortagainst this vision and committed that, by 2018, we would transparently reporton our products’ impact and open the reports to a third-party audit.

Fundamentally, efficacy is aboutdefining what outcomes we need to achieve for our learners and building thecapabilities to measure and improve those outcomes. From education research tolearning science, and from analytics to impact evaluation, Pearson teams arecommitted to defining, measuring, and continuously improving outcomes.

In a few short years, this program hasaltered product development, busted internal siloes, and deepened our customerrelationships. We are seeing concrete examples of how our approach improvesproducts, improves outcomes, and helps Pearson grow to be a more successfulcompany.

How do we work?

Within Pearson’s Global Efficacy &Research team, we are the Strategy & Programme Management team and we playa central strategy and delivery role. Primary responsibilities for our teaminclude:

●developingthe global Efficacy strategy on how we improve outcomes for more learners

●supportingimplementation of the strategy in partnership with Efficacy colleagues globally

●monitoringand reporting on progress to Pearson’s Executive and Board of Directors

●ensuringthat we provide efficient and well managed efficacy related services to productdevelopment teams across the company

What are theresponsibilities of the role?

We actively re-allocate our time tomake sure we are always working on the most important problems and alwaysdeveloping our people. Each of us has the opportunity to lead on something thatis of importance to us and of valueto the team.

While the role will evolve initially youwould spend your time:

●Developing and implementing our EfficacyGrowth and Impact Goals, driving Pearson to improve the impact of its products,systematically and at scale

●Managing the relationships withEfficacy Managers across various Geographies, mentoring senior colleagues toensure the Efficacy Agenda progresses globally

●Supporting and contributing to thecontinual evolution of the team’s strategy and agenda

●Designing and supporting our work tointegrate efficacy data into Sales and Marketing

●Presenting regularly to seniorexecutives including the CEO, the President of our product developmentorganisation, and the SVP for Efficacy and Research
