Assessment Designcurrently comprises an Assessment Design Manager, a Senior Assessment Designerand a growing team of Assessment Designers.
An AssessmentDesigner works closely with other teams within PQS and across divisions toensure that the assessments are of the highest quality. They work closely withQualification Development in the development of assessments in newqualifications or services leading to the production of SAMs for theaccreditation process. They also work closely with operational colleaguesto support the implementation process leading to the production of EAMs andlive assessments. They work alongside colleagues on the cycle of continuousimprovement ensuring live assessments are robust and deliver designed outcomes.
The post holderwill be an expert in assessment who is able to work on specific allocationswhich will include aspects of general and vocational assessment, as well asspecial projects.
They will work closely with other departments across the business drawingtogether the wider knowledge and expertise in order to ensure that Pearson'sproducts, whether qualifications or alternative products and services arerobust in terms of their assessment.
The post holder will have a good understanding of the key validity andreliability issues associated with different assessment methodologies. Theywill proactively seek to expand their knowledge and understanding of theory andgood practice and be responsive to new developments in assessment, includinge-assessment where appropriate, in order to ensure that their input into theassessment development is of the highest quality.
They should havea good understanding of the implications of existing and new assessment modelsfor customers.
