The Certifications Analyst position is responsible for managing all aspects of certifications, representations, and disclosures within the North America business unit. This will require communication with many internal departments and external customers, particularly government and procurement agencies. These requests are often necessary for the execution of revenue contracts.


  • Contract Certifications, Representations, and Disclosures. - 75%

  • Investigations and background check responses.

  • Coordinating responses from Legal on a wide variety of questions. Categories include past litigation, EEOC claims, OSHA claims, and other wide-ranging requests from customers.

  • Work with senior executives and company officers to collect information and coordinate responses to customers’ inquiries regarding historic issues.

  • Respond to requests for financial figures such as revenue by legal entity.

  • Respond to requests for number of employees by legal entity.

  • Respond to requests for compliance certification (eg: Conflict of Interest, Transparency Act, Drug Free Workplace, Darfur Contracting Act, political contribution disclosures).

  • Review Sweepstakes, Contests, and Sponsorships Requests. - 25%

  • Review requests from the Business for sweepstakes, contest, and sponsorships, to confirm whether they are in compliance with Pearson policies and applicable state or federal laws.

  • Work with Counsel as needed and provide guidance to business group on these matters.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Typically requires 2-4 years related experience, or a graduate degree in a related field.

  • Paralegal Certification preferred.

  • Superior attention to detail.

  • Presents self in positive and professional manner.

  • Demonstrated experience communicating and coordinating with cross functional teams and customers.

  • Demonstrated strong multi-tasking and organizational skills required.

  • Demonstrated self-starter with ability to overcome obstacles and excellent follow through to complete assignments required.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • This person must be able to sit or stand at a personal computer for a reasonable length of time typing and reading.

  • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a short period of time, handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and operate in a demanding work environment is important.

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality is critical to successful performance in this role.
