Vacancyfor Sports & Skills Programme Manager and Outdoor Learning Specialist.

A dynamic and flexible education manager is required to design, develop, recruit staff and deliver an extensive extra curricular programme for Junior Soldiers at the Army Foundation College Harrogate as part of Pearson TQ's delivery of training and education to learners at that site. In addition the person appointed will have responsibility for developing and implementing other outdoor learning opportunities at the College and elsewhere.

Please note the post will require a high level of commitment and work at weekends and evenings on a regular basis. Salary will be offered according to experience and qualifications.

  • Anawareness and understanding of contemporary developments in DoE Sports and Skillsactivities

  • Ability tomaintain and produce records on training delivery, including long and short-termforward planning processes

  • Ability tolead and support decision-making processes and to support, empathise andcooperate with other management personnel, team members and partners

  • Experienceof managing large group activities, competitions and similar activities

  • Possessionof excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Possessionof excellent listening skills

  • Possessionof excellent interpersonal skills and supportive attitude to colleagues

  • A flexibleapproach to work, including the support of a rotational shift pattern of daytime,evening and weekend working

  • Degree or equivalent in Sports Educationor related disciplines

  • Managementqualification and or experience

  • Experience of instructing under 18sand/or teaching qualification

  • Goodworking knowledge of MS Office package and other corporate accounting systems

  • Experienceof supervising instructor teams within a complex programme of delivery

  • Experienceof delivering physical development to groups (up to 48 people), includingrecord keeping and assessment

  • Experienceof motivating young adults in a physical or recreational training environment.

  • Experience of managing large numbers ofpart time staff and associates

  • Experience of managingequipment and stores

  • Experience of managing acomplex accounts system

  • Experience of managing,recruitment and selection, HR processes

  • Budgets and accounts managementexperience

  • Health Safety Management Qualificationor experience

  • Coaching or refereeing skill in ArmySports or willingness to acquire
