Evaluatesthe systems needs of staff and operating departments and recommends solutionsto problems. Develops, tests, supports, and modifies application systems and databasesystems. Documents all systems designed and modified.Receives defined work assignments that areportions of a broader assignment.Mayreceive some general instruction on routine work, more detailed instructions onnew assignments.Performs work that isvaried and that maybe somewhat difficult in character, but usually involveslimited responsibility.Works withothers in evaluating decisions/solutions.Solves problems of limited scope.

General Responsibilities

  • Develop and document test scenarios/cases and test scripts for each project/system

  • Create and maintain all regression test plans

  • Define necessary test data to support defined test cases

  • Analyze and create test approach, test cycle and test schedule for project

  • Facilitate test plan/case reviews with Business Analyst to confirm accuracy

  • Execute test cases and validate system functionality against business requirements and system design, including verify defect fixes

  • Compile test results and report defects in detail with information reported from business stakeholders and project team

  • Responsible for the coordination and execution of user acceptance testing

  • Works in collaboration with project team to ensure the applications development projects have been tested and meet the required deliverables, accountable for accurate testing results

  • Provide second level end users support for all internal systems

  • Work with technical resources to bring resolutions to customers problems

  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • 4-year degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Business OR appropriate combination of experience and education

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with software quality assurance

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience developing, designing and implementing QA standards for software testing

  • Effective in developing test scripts based on requirements and specifications captured in the project requirements and system design documents

  • Experience in documenting and facilitating User Acceptance Testing

  • Has a good technical understanding and is able to follow and participate in technical discussion

  • Proficiency working in Microsoft environments

  • Ability to work effectively in teams is required, includes instances where team membership spans multiple business units, locations or countries, and/or utilizes 3rd-party (offshore) resources

  • Proficient with systems and enjoys working with new tools

  • Works independently, takes ownership of tasks, processes and solutions

  • Strong listening, and oral/written communications skills, includes the ability to facilitate interactive sessions with business / functional personnel

  • Exceptional organization, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Experience with systems development lifecycle and system management processes, including requirements management, design, configuration and user acceptance testing

  • Preferred experience supporting higher education institutions with knowledge of marketing, recruiting, student advising business processes and related systems
