The Inside Employability Sales Consultant (ESC) is responsible for remotely developing and maintaining business within a designated territory by leveraging Pearson content, technology, assets, and services. This designated territory includes sales responsibility for Private Sector Academic Institutions, State andlocal Associations, and business and corporate learning and development needs.
The ESC will partner with sales support resources to create partnerships and solutions with P&Ls that are beneficial to both Pearson and the client. This position is responsible for maximizing market share and revenue growth in the territory, as well as ensuring customer satisfaction. The ESC will be responsible for selling, managing and executing all sales including services, and off-the-shelf and customized solutions.
40% Develop and maintain relationships to effectively increase market share with existing and potential clients via phone calls, WebEx, and email
20% Articulate and promote Pearson products and services to designated and potential clients including both off-the-shelf and customized content, services, and solutions
15% Conduct analysis / discovery of customer needs in order to gain a clear understanding of how to position products / services
15% Gather and share market, industry, competitive, and customer information, as appropriate. Conduct territory analysis to successfully determine account priorities and sales strategies. Develop territory and account plans on regular basis (to be determined by management). Scout talent for manuscripts, reviewers, speakers, and advisors within designated territory
10% Represent Pearson at trade shows and events in the territory
Bachelor’s degree required
3 years of successful sales and business development experience required. Business to business sales preferred.
Understanding and experience selling customized solutions, services and technologies
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Ability to build strong relationships and provide both consultative and basic services to clients
Ability to identify, articulate, align, and implement products, solutions, and services to customer needs
Strong presentation skills, negotiation and influencing skills
Ability to adapt to rapid change

Proven ability to organize, prioritize, plan, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel as necessary to fulfill core job functions in assigned territory
Proficient at Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Proficiency with Salesforce.com
