Pearson English has an excellent opportunity available for an ESL Publishing Sales Representative.

ESL Sales Representatives are responsible for professionally promoting Pearson Education ELT solutions to educational professionals with the goal of achieving assigned sales targets in their respective territories. The primary focus of this position is to drive business results for the Maryland territory through a blend of business acumen and professional performance skills.

Successful candidates for the position should demonstrate technological proficiency in regards to being able to present and demonstrate software programs. Excellent territory and time management skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal communication.

  • Achieve established objectives for territory in consultation with line management to assure proper portfolio balance and planned actions.

  • Meet/exceed sales goal expressed as % growth, and/or sales target

  • Employ effective selling techniques following the ELT Sales Model, including pre-call planning, effective opening, presentation focus and productive questions, issue identification and effective close.

  • Employ effective consultative techniques including pre-call planning and productive questioning strategies that lead to winning business.

  • Demonstrate superb organizational and follow-up abilities; maintain product knowledge around Pearson technologies, the educational industry, and factors influencing the market environment.

  • Deliver technology presentations to faculty.

  • Demonstrate collaboration through sharing of successful strategies and working with cross functional teams.

  • Implement company initiatives into sales territory.

  • Build strong relationships with faculty members and college bookstore personnel.

  • Maintain an expert product knowledge base including education, consumer education, and factors influencing the market environment. Understands and uses approved promotional materials to support marketing message.

  • Successfully implements the territory sales plan in alliance with Marketing & Sales resources to meet or exceed goal.

  • Maintain up-to-date SFDC (CRM) data to document sales call information, trends, future call objectives, sampling data and overall territory performance.

  • Demonstrate teamwork through sharing of best practices and working with cross functional teams.

  • Adjust/adopt/incorporate national requirements, initiatives and plans.

  • Complete and transmit weekly activity and expense reports.

  • Prepare for, attend, and actively participate in all required sales conferences and training at local and/or remote locations.

  • Provide input and critical feedback to Marketing in development of both promotional and product areas.

Qualifications

You should be able to demonstrate:

  • High Achievement and consistent track record for excelling in a fast-paced college and/or work environment.

  • Sales experience or aptitude via enthusiasm for the process of investigating, creating and fulfilling customers’ needs.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Experience with Learning Technologies or curiosity about the development of traditional and technology based intellectual property.

  • Technological proficiency and strong working knowledge of the internet, mobile technologies, and computer applications and business systems.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication.

  • A 4-year college degree demonstrating academic excellence.

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds

  • Must be able to work weekend conferences and events- typically 8-10 per year
