Pearson Lanka is currently seeking an Automation Engineer whodemonstrable intermediate understanding of monitoring, security andarchitectural components such as storage and networking showing accountabilityand end to end ownership of support and build issues.
Based in Orion City, Colombo, you will evaluate and applysoftware/firmware upgrades and support packs as required to solve productionproblems and/or ensure compliance and system integrity.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Build cutting edge end to end Automated Solutions to enable Infrastructure as Code operation model
Champion changes to tools and processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation
Automate parts of the development delivery process using scripts and other appropriate tools
Advise on new technologies and methodologies by becoming an expert in emerging technologies and tools
- Bachelor’sDegree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
2years of experience with designing, building andadministrating complex Windows /Linux platforms and operation of medium tolarge-scale enterprise and cloud infrastructures, databases, and application systemsapplications including Chef, Puppet and shell scriptingTravis CI etc.…)
Extensive experience of scripting and automation to support and troubleshoot hosted
Hands on experience with AWS or Azure is an added advantage
Strong grasp of monitoring tools, approach and implementation
Solid working experience of continuous integration practices & tools (Jenkins,
Familiar with DevOps tools (Docker, Jenkins, Ansible)
Experience of working in an Agile environment with a foundation level understanding of Agile principles and their application.Agile development exposure will be an added advantage (continuous integration,release/build management, capturing user requirements to populate backlog)
Full tech stack appreciation with good understanding of DevOps in an operational environment
Experience of using Service Now or similar incident and change tracking tools
Experience of high volume queues and ticket allocation would be an added advantage
