The User Experience Researcher isresponsible for bringing the user’s voice to our strategic product developmentefforts in Pearson Global Product Organization, and is considered the residentsubject matter expert on our user’s needs, goals, motivations and desires. As User Experience Researcher, you willcollaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, problem solving as an embeddedand invested member of our product design teams. This role requires a Researcher who hasexperience and competency with UX processes and methodologies. You will workwith guidance depending on the project to scope projects and develop researchroadmaps. Your primary responsibilities are planning, conducting, analyzing,and reporting on user-centered design research for a range of higher educationproducts.
●Well versed in user-centered designmethods and best practices.
●Work well in an environment withonsite and remote teams.
●Experience preparing and makingformal presentations/reviews.
●MA/MS degree or equivalent in HumanComputer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, or arelated field. A minimum of 3 years of directly related work experience incollecting user data for online interfaces is typically required.
●Three (3) years direct experiencewith user experience research methodologies such as card sorting, usabilitytesting, customer interviews, surveys and focus groups.
●Experience conducting mobileresearch. (smart phones/tablets/nativeapps/online mobile sites)
●Knowledge of data analytics
●Three (3) or more years ofexperience as a usability test facilitator or moderator, with a demonstratedprofessional demeanor and an ability to put research participants at ease.
●Experience participating inmulti-disciplinary teams, facilitating the research agenda, and conducting userexperience research within an iterative development process.
●Contribute as a member of a team that solves user problems through User Centered Design process.
●Supports UX Research effort, recommends appropriate methodologies depending on insight objectives.
●Consults with learning designers, UX designers, product managers, prototypers and other team members to design, script, conduct and report user research that delivers appropriate and timely insights to the product design process.
●Analyze results, and data to identify UX issues. Communicates results and recommendations in a timely, easily consumable and actionable format.
●Measure the effectiveness of user experience improvements and collaborate with other teams to measure improvements.
●Experience Requirements: Test method selection, experimental design, screener creation, moderating (contextual inquiry, usability testing, participatory design, card sorting, focus groups etc) surveys, online moderation, diary studies, statistical/quantitative/qualitative analysis, persona development, site analytics, reporting and presentations (verbal and written).
