Pearson has an opportunity available within the Global Learning Platform program as a Senior Technical Project Manager.

SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of this position is to work across multiple teams to coordinate the definition and implementation of technical requirements for the Global Learning Platform. Projects are focused on the integration of internal and external applications and non-functional requirements. In addition to team responsibilities, a senior technical project manager is responsible for contributing to the evolution of initiatives outside of the team and the project management discipline. The ideal candidate will be a high-performing, hands-on project manager experienced in technology, working in cross-functional teams and managing end-to-end delivery.

  • Work across teams to define technical requirements, create project roadmap, define milestones and track deliverables

  • Elevate project risks and issues, proactively work to resolution and manage mitigation plans

  • Advocate and advance the continuous improvement of best practices in agile project management, including agile at scale

  • Change agent helping the team and the organization to continuously experiment and evolve

  • Leads cultural development by preserving and enhancing the positive work environment and Pearson values

  • Drive the progress of software development according to the roadmap, from inception to roll-out

  • Communicator of project health and status

  • Build a strong cross-functional team to establish and manage the team’s strategy and delivery against roadmap

  • Coordinator across projects when multiple teams are required to solve a single product development challenge

  • Manager of risks/issues/impediments/integrations and software releases

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree and seven plus years of project management experience in software development, including both agile and traditional project management experience. Experience with integration and user interface projects required OR equivalent education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
