Position Summary

The Supervisor, SQA is responsible to provide leadership toSoftware Quality Assurance teams by devising strategies and tactics to enableeffective growth and support of the SQA team to meet business needs and tocoordinate and supervise the daily activities of employees in assigned workarea. The Supervisor must quickly and effectively respond to issuesrelated to the team and products, yet remain adaptive to changing businessneeds. The SQA Supervisor ensures tested products, services andconfigurations meet requirements and are within total quality management limitsand standards. They also take responsibility of building and maintaining supportive,cooperative and cohesive work environment, establishing and maintaining metricsfor quality and productivity, and developing group members.

The SQA team(s) specifically are responsible for planning,reviewing, testing and validation of a suite of applications across severalproduct areas. The SQA Supervisor will:

  • Work closely across SQA teams and software development projects, providing operational leadership from resource planning, people development, to testing service to ensure the high quality, effective, and satisfied testing service to internal and external customers.

  • Perform root cause analysis on discrepancies or defects by reviewing the development code, determine and/or categorize the root cause issues and make recommendations on or present options for how to handle the issue or discrepancy.

  • Interact with developers and end users to develop and execute test strategies for testing of highly complex, high volume web testing initiatives. Participate in requirements and design review meetings, actively representing SQA.


Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business or other application field or equivalent experience

  • 5 years’ experience in technology – software development, testing, systems, technical support, etc.

  • 2 years experience in project leadership

  • 2 years experience as Team Lead

  • Advanced knowledge of Agile SDLC

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

  • Project leadership experience in areas of forecasting effort, resource needs, scheduling effort and resources, reporting status and adjusting schedules and forecasts is preferred

  • Effective team leading skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

  • Ability to supervise and to motivate staff

  • Customer focus

  • Ability to manage ambiguity effectively
