As a Product Owner you will bridge the needs of the business to product implementation with our agile development teams. In this important role you will be responsible for providing vision and direction to the agile development team throughout the project. Ideally this is done through understanding and representing the customer to the team through backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories and requirements.
As a Product Owner you will be afforded the opportunity to serve as a Subject Matter Expert regarding specific products and technologies to the Product Owner team. You will be expected to make yourself available to support and mentor the team in this capacity.
In the role, you will have a chance to work closely with Product Strategy Managers and the Software Development teams as both the business requirements and functional specifications source and the business communication liaison throughout a project.

Test Center Channel
Pearson VUE’s test center channel provides applications to test centers and operational teams to deliver and support exam delivery. This Product Owner partners with our operations stakeholders to plan product investment in this area, and helps to plan our investment and enhancement approach.
The Product Owner:
Manages an enhancement request process to identify work of high business value.
Creates and maintains a product backlog reflecting value and prioritizing work for a product engineering team.
Works with business and product engineering leadership to prioritize enhancements and releases.
Conveys the goals and product requirements for enhancements and new development and, with Business Analysts, assists with the elaboration of the user stories and requirements.
Represents the business to the team; answers questions and provides direction.
Participates in agile work planning meetings and retrospectives.
Coordinates with other Agile Product Owners to coordinate release planning for cross-product initiatives.
Works with Strategic Product Managers to translate high level strategy product direction into work breakdown and prioritization for the backlog.
Works with Product Designers to develop personas supporting usability and user-centered design.
Collaborates with the Business Solutions team during pre-sale activities and convert client launch requirements into backlog items.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a Business, Information Systems, Computer Science discipline.
Seasoned IT or Business professional with a minimum of 3-5 years business analysis, technical experience, customer management, and/or technology implementations.
Desired Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Significant experience with requirement elicitation and interpreting business needs into actionable requirements.
Experience with agile product development including requirements and work management in epics and stories. Experience with personas and/or story mapping desired but not required.
Proven ability to quickly learn new business domains and technical applications.
Direct customer interface experience desired but not required (presenting to clients; working with clients directly on project tasks; managing client expectations).
Experience in computer-based testing, certification, online learning, or licensing industry preferred but not required.
Significant experience with software development of web-based applications, online platforms, content management systems, data warehousing, reporting, or similar systems.
